Push Play
Company of Thieves (coming May 2008)
The Wall
Hundreds of girls storm the stage, screaming, as the music starts and 4 very stylish, good looking guys run on stage. Who are these 4 guys? CJ Baran, Steve Scarola, Nick DeTurris, and Derek Ries, also known as Push Play.

Push Play is an up and coming band from Long Island who recently released their debut album “Deserted”. You may say that this pop/rock band reminds you of teen group the Jonas Brothers, but the only comparision is the fans. With their edgy pop/rock sound, Push Play has drawn in teenage girls from all over the globe from 12-18 years old. While their demographic is the 12 to 18 female set, Push Play is now moving into the alternative rock scene with many more guys coming out to see them play live and buying their CDs. They are currently preparing for their summer tour, so watch out for when these 4 talented guys will be in your area.

With their upcoming show at Nokia Theatre in Times Square on April 26th and all their appearances in teen magazines, the front page of the NY Times and voted the Best Band on Long Island by the Long Island Press, Push Play is a band not to be missed, taking the world by storm.

Bio

Push Play is an edgy pop rock band coming to the scene first on Long Island and reaching as far as the Midwest in cities such as Menomonee Falls, WI and Chicago, Illinois and as far north as Boston, MA.   Comprised of 4 young men, this talented group has just been named Best Band on Long Island by the Long Island Press.  Their newly released debut album “Deserted”, which represents all of their own material, has reached almost 30,000 fans across the globe and their iTunes release stayed in the top 100 for the first 2 weeks, which is unheard of by an unsigned band that had not begun touring outside the tri-state area.

Recently selling out the renowned Irving Plaza in Manhattan, Push Play left four blocks of fans unable to get in to the packed house. Now embarking on venues that are doubled the capacity of Irving Plaza, Push Play will be the sole performer at Manhattan’s Nokia Theater on April 26, 2008.

This rock quartet consists of CJ Baran, lead singer, rhythm guitarist and keyboards, Steve Scarola, lead guitarist and keyboards, Nick DeTurris, bass, and Derek Ries, drummer.  They are smart and charismatic and true role models. CJ Baran is a senior at St. Anthony's in S. Huntington and president of both Student Council and DECA. Steve Scarola is a member of the marching band at Garden City High and recently came back with a group from his school working to help rebuild New Orleans. Nick DeTurris is VP of Yodel Kadodel at Commack High, which is a club that raises funds for cancer victims and Derek Ries is on a full scholarship with Baruch's Honors Program as a freshman. All are 18 years old, these young men represent tomorrow’s leaders and more importantly “DOERS”.

What sets them apart from the rest is quite simple: PURPOSE! Their Push Play for Purpose campaign is getting national recognition as they start to make their way to other states for one cause: to help those in need. Their philanthropic efforts through this "Purpose" tour has enabled them to raise funds for a multitude of charities including Education and Assistance Corp., Shared Decision, Christian Ministries, Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, Team for Kids, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Autism Speaks, Invisible Children, Samaritan's Feet, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Disaster Relief for Hurricane Katrina victims, Habitat for Humanity, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Relay for Life, 1 in 9 Susan G. Komen Foundation, Fight for Charity, donating money to both Friends of the Arts and Fight for Charity and performing for free at those events as well.

They are committed to donating their performances to any charity and as part of their Purpose campaign they will continue their fundraising efforts which will end on June 30, 2008.  At their upcoming performance at Nokia Theatre, Push Play will donate $1 from each ticket purchased by a group back to the group’s charity of their choice!

Recently signing with Creative Artist Agency, as their agent, they plan to take the world by force, starting slowly and building a fan base across the globe with solid headlining acts. Push Play has been approached by the majors but have decided to take things into their own hands under the leadership of their management and the force behind their “Push Play for Purpose” campaign which has set them apart from other bands. In the tri-state area every show performed has been to a sold out crowd since September 2007.  Only together for a year and a half, this is quite a triumph for these good looking, multitalented young men.
