Laura Wilde, a 22-year old Australian singer-songwriter, is beginning to make her mark here in the United States. After working with a number of Australian artists playing guitar and bass in her teen years, Laura moved to Los Angeles to further her career as a solo rock artist. She is an incredibly talented musician; she sings, plays lead guitar, bass and drums. Laura Wilde has gone back to old rock and roll roots and has reinvented it into her own thing.
She has given a refreshing new sound to classic 70’s rock and roll. Laura’s influences include Slash, Jimi Hendrix, and Jimmy Page. She has an incredibly powerful voice and a raspy tone that gives her songs a grungy, true rock and roll feel. Laura’s debut album Sold My Soul has a great mix of head-banging rock songs and slower, easy-listening rock.
Laura Wilde will be on a full U.S. tour all summer supporting Ted Nugent. I think that she will develop a following of all ages, appealing to an older crowd who grew up listening to classic rock and bringing in younger fans who just love some good rock and roll music. Laura Wilde is definitely an artist to keep your eye on. She has great potential and I think she’ll go very far in today’s music industry.
