Owl City announces world tour, kicks off September 5

Owl City announced today (July 9) that he will be going on a world tour in support of his upcoming and highly anticipated full length studio album The Midsummer Station, which comes out August 21 on Republic Records (UMG).  The tour kicks off September 5 at Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom and hits other major locales around North America for the first leg including Orlando, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Dallas, and San Diego.  The North American leg concludes October 6 at the Vic in Chicago and October 7 at the Crofoot in Detroit.  From there, an 11 day break ensues, taking Owl City to Paris on October 18 to start the European, Asian and Australian leg.  The leg will includes stops in Germany, an October 25 date at the Forum in London that kicks off a slew of dates around the UK and Ireland, Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia.  The world tour will conclude November 20 at The Metro in Sydney, Australia.

The news comes on the heels of a successful first week of single release for “Good Time,” a duet with rising superstar Carly Rae Jepsen and serves as the debut single from The Midsummer Station.  The song raked in sales of 140,000 copies and debuted at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Currently, Owl City is is on a promo tour, pushing the album’s music around North America, Asia, Europe and the UK.  Tickets for this fall world tour commences July 13 at noon local time.
