Motion City Soundtrack announces fall headlining tour

By Alan Ho

Motion City Soundtrack announced today (July 11) thaty they will embark on a fall headlining tour in support of their fifth studio album Go—out now on Epitaph Records/Boombox Generation.  The tour will fit the large demand for the band during their spring road trip and hit venues and locales they failed to hit to on the spring tour.

The band’s new album marked their return to their longtime label and their original roots, described in the press release as showcasing “Justin Pierre’s lyrical sincerity, which is matched with the band’s everlasting ability to create catchy, stuck-in-your-head songs.  The album has been heralded as ‘one of the best releases so far this year’ by PopMatters and ‘an upbeat collection of power pop about solutions for worrisome things’ by Newsday who gave the album an A! Alternative Press raved saying, “their brisk pop sensibilities, strident vocal melodies and rock-solid propulsion remain in top form” and Kerrang!described Go as ‘11 grade A cuts, oozing melodies, smarts and heart’."

Before the fall US headliner, Motion City Soundtrack will be playing the summer fest circuit around Asia, including Kuala Lumpur, the Nano-Mugen Festival in Japan and the Jisan Valley Rock Festival in South Korea.

The band will also announce headlining dates in the UK soon. for the most up-to-date information.
