I love the song! Fresh and a total new style for David! I love the chorus and the bridge. Emanuel Kiriakou is also an awesome musician. Such a good combination: composer and singer!

I love this song by David A. It’s a perfect first release song for him and I find myself singing it constantly. I will also look forward to the release of his CD and his more mature message songs in the future. Oh, what the heck am I saying, I love anything sung by David. He is in a class by himself. (and I’m not a tween or teen or grandma by the way)

Crush is such a terrific song by David. The tune is fun and catchy, and we still get to enjoy the beautiful tonal quality and emotion that David breathes into every song he performs.

What a fantastic freshman release for this extremely talented singer. He’s really played his cards right on this one! Saavy move young man!!!!! You are wise beyond your years (but we already knew that!).

This song has me hypnotized and mesmorized!

Way to go David Archuleta!!! You deserve every bit of success that comes your way!

I was a fan of David’s during the idol show, but I am very disappointed with this song. It sounds like all the other dribble that is out there on the radio today. Any other artist could be singing this song. Nothing unique.

David has delivered an amazing first single to his fans, and the public. It is rhythmic, David’s superior vocals soar and are identifiable throughout, has a catchy beat.. Hey-> I watched lotsa American Bandstand back in the day 🙂

His fans like me find themselves humming along unconsciously, and the verses transport the listener back to those bygone days of school girl and schoolboy CRUSHES… It has an appeal across a very broad spectrum of listeners, and should effectively silence the detractors and critics who didn’t believe he had mainstream appeal. CRUSH is the catapult for David to continue his growth and evolution as an artist – I ANTICIPATE MANY MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING MUSIC FROM HIM. TAKE A BOW DAVID… YOU’VE ARRIVED.

Can’t think of anything else to say about the way I, and millions of David’s fans, feel about him and his success… This quote, from an interview David gave earlier this month in a Spanish language magazine pretty much sums it up:
“This show was not easy for him, he just made it look easy,” says Michael Orland, pianist and musical director for American Idol, about Archuleta, who will graduate from high school next year. “He came as a genius and left as a genius. All the participants aspired to reach his level.”

Great song. I love the different layers of the background and the how I always find myself “boppin” to the chorus no matter how many times I’ve listened to it. Thanks for posting it.

I love how this song is upbeat and catchy, but be meaningful at the same time. This is a great first single that just proves that David can’t just sing ballads! He may not have shown the actual strength and beauty of his voice in this song, but he did give us some beautiful runs in the middle and especially the end part of the song. Can’t wait for the album. I hope some of the songs in his upcoming album would be catchy, meaningful and show hiw vocal prowess as well! 😀

David has a fresh appeal and a talent that cannot be denied. I have been impressed with his growth as a person, and as an artist since his first Idol appearance. It’s good to see someone so young be given an opportunity to realize their dreams, and to have him be as down to earth, humble and as appreciative as his fans are of the success he’s attained. I look forward to buying his album, keeping tabs on his career, and getting to see him perform as a solo artist. Thumbs up to ya David on a great year of surprises and successes – and here’s to many more of the same!

I stuck this song on my iPod as soon as it was released, and I love it. His vocals are amazing and this take on a ‘first’ crush is both mature and fresh. Dying to hear the rest of the album.
