YouTube has always been a great gateway for aspiring artists to pave their way into the music world. Joining the lot of YouTube-made musicians is Indianapolis based band, We Are Forever. What video made them viral? Their rock cover of the popular EDM song “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. The cover video caught the attention of popular YouTube channels BryanStars and BlankTV, leading to their growing view count, which has broken the 70,000 mark.
Prior to the recording of their hit cover, the pop/rock five-piece released their first EP titled Seasons in 2012. This year, the band, comprised of Aren Anderson, brothers Alex and Ricky Ayala, Chris Cain and Alex Nauth, are releasing their first full-length album. The album, due out on September 3rd, is titled To Be Alive. It will feature their single “Everything You Are.”
2013 also marked another big event for the Midwest boys. Not only are they releasing their first full-length album, We Are Forever were also named winners of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition. Winning the competition allowed them to perform at their local Vans Warped Tour date, a huge step in the path to musical stardom.
Though they’ve only been around since 2010, the young band has a lot of potential. Though they aren’t currently on tour, be sure to pick up their album when it drops early September… and if you haven’t already; check out their cover of “Lights” right here.
