Forget 1D Day.  Might as well be a week as the superstar British-Irish boy band announces today on the ABC morning show Good Morning America that they will be hitting North America next summer!  The announcement is on the heels of their just-released album Midnight Memories (around here at least), the 2013 followup to the breakout 2012’s Take Me Home.  The current slate is a 21-city journey through North America with more dates possible for further announcement and will be promoted by Live Nation.

Tickets go on sale December 7 through Ticketmaster, so set the alarm and put it in your calendar Directioners!  Citi cardmembers will have first dibs though through the card’s Private Pass program beginning today (Nov. 26), for more details, visit www.citiprivatepass.com.  In addition, fans may be able to grab exclusive RSVPs to purchase tickets beginning December 3 via Facebook.

"We simply can’t wait to be back in North America touring and to see our fans," says Niall Horan. "It’s going to be absolutely huge!"

Before they head out on their world tour, the boys will be performing live on Saturday Night Live December 7 on NBC and last night’s iHeartRadio Release Party will be shown on The CW network December 9 with a special encore on Christmas Day at 9 pm ET, also on The CW.
