Country music is known for having strong female singers and they are about to add one more to their list. Lexi Larsen, a singer-songwriter from Ogallala, Nebraska, has taken her dream about being a country singer in her own hands and now she is ready to get the national recognition she has worked hard for.
Now the album she has worked so hard to produce and fans have believed in has finally dropped. The re-release of her debut album, Good Memories which features the single “You Can Leave” has started to get this talented singer the attention she has always wanted. With her first single making its way up in country radio, Larsen was chosen by the Country Music Association’s CMA Close Up magazine as one of their “Who New To Watch in 2014” artists.
With other powerful songs like “Something about a Sunday” and “Till You’ve Loved a Cowboy”, Good Memories will showcase Lexi’s talent and potential to be a force to be wrecking with in country music.
Born in western corn-country Nebraska, Larson knew from an early age that she wanted to be a singer. Her first performance was at the age of four when she got to sing the national anthem at the Keith County Fair and from that day on, she was on a roll. The young singer began to doing singing competitions like the Galaxy of Star Search and Colgate Country Showdown to star make a name for herself. While she was trying to get the attention of Nashville, she enjoyed performing around her hometown.
After taking her first trip to Nashville at the age of fifteen, Larsen knew that is where she needed to be. In 2005 she met nationally acclaimed vocal coach Renee Grant-Williams and continued to travel to music city once a month. After graduation high school, at the age of nineteen Larsen finally made the move to country music capital. She began to focus on music and writing songs while performing small venues and recording demos. Larsen began working on songs for her official debut album but funds to produce an album began adding up. This is where Larson realized how many people believed in her and her music. She started a fund through Kickstarter where fans donated money to help fund her album. The support was overwhelming and before the thirty day deadline she had raised over ten thousand dollars.
Larsen has been able to get more exposure by performing anywhere that will let her. She had done three summer tours from playing a motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota to performing a show in Xian, China. Larsen has proved that she is on her way to bigger stages when she got the opportunity to open shows for Country Music Hall of Famer Ronnie Milsap and others like Phil Vassar, Gloriana and Grammy-nominated Emerson Drive.
Lexi Larsen has showcase a talent that is starting to captivate the country music scene. With powerful smooth vocals and a talent for songwriting, Larsen has started to make a name for herself. It won’t be long until this small town girl from Nebraska is one of the biggest female rising stars in country music.
