3 Doors Down announces acoustic tour; reveals album plans

unnamedBy Alan Ho

3 Doors Down will not be denied!  The long-time alt pop-rockets have announced today (Monday April 14, 2014) their summer plans that will see them hit the road for an extended engagement to promote their “3 Doors Down Acoustic – Songs From The Basement” AND an album announcement that has them releasing an album sometime in 2015.  This album will be the group’s sixth effort.

Their “Basement” dates are borne out of a series of performances back in January that saw the group perform some of their biggest hits in their song catalog in acoustic form and due to popular demand, the group is taking this from coast to coast with further digging up of their old music and restoring it in acoustic format.  Singer Brad Arnold shares,

“The acoustic shows are a blast, and we have an amazing connection with our fans during the performances. We are excited to get back out on the road and play these songs for the rest of America!”

In further detail of the album announcement, the group will be bunkering down in a Nashville studio to begin writing the aformentioned sixth effort that will be released next year.  Alongside the founding members, the new repertoire is a collective effort with all members participating in the writing process.

In addition, the band will be returning to the Hawaiian Islands for the 4th of July celebrations at Pearl Harbor- Hickman in Oahu to support the troops, an ardent and very close cause to the group.  This will be their first appearance on the islands since July 5, 2008 when they performed at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Honolulu.  Before their return, they will be at the Kadena Air Base at Okinawa, Japan for Freedom Fest June 28th and 29th.  This will be the band’s first visit to Okinawa.
