The latter part was an inevitability considering their former label Octone had been with Interscope/A&M from the get go, so it was only logical that Maroon 5 would ink with the parent. But upon that announcement is that a new album is coming out!
The album is titled V and it will be out September 2, 2014 and preceding it will be a release of a new single in the summer. The album will be their fifth studio effort. Also on the heels of that announcement is they have also signed a worldwide tour deal with Live Nation with tour dates to be announced in the next several weeks ahead.
Recorded in LA over the past year with producers Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder,Shellback and Sam Martin, V reunites Maroon 5 with long-time keyboardist Jesse Carmichael who took a hiatus while the band recorded 2012’s Overexposed. The return of Carmichael may well signal some sort of return to the group’s past glory as a harder sounding outfit with rock, soul and a touch of R&B as opposed to sheer glossy pop from Overexposed.
