The Spotlight

Trace Cyrus - High Res

By Alan Ho

Who: Ashland High

Where:  Los Angeles, CA

Sounds like:  Metro Station, The White Tie Affair, The Bravery, the Killers

Almost four years ago Metro Station burst upon the scene with the infectious dance pop/rock single “Shake It” but after internal problems caused the group to part ways, former Station frontman Trace Cyrus has reemerged with a new band that builds upon what he has done with Metro Station but now adding some grime, dub-step and even some R&B into the formula that made Metro Station a brief but runaway success.  That band is called Ashland High.

And as a special favor to his fans, Trace has decided to hand over Ashland High’s debut album for FREE, that is right, you heard it right…FREE, which he has done since New Year’s Eve.  At current count, “Geronimo” has been downloaded nearly 140,000 times!  You can now catch this new band on the road as they open for Breathe Carolina and The Ready Set on the “Blackout Forever Tour”! at a venue near you!  But, before that happens, Ashland High can be sighted in the Los Angeles area on Feb. 24 in Anaheim and Feb. 26 at the famous Roxy in West Hollywood opening for Runner Runner.
