When the band Push Play comes up, we think of the four boys that met up in Long Island and became a band. Well in their new CD, ‘Deserted,’ shows who they really are. With its catchy beats and amazing vocals, we face a listening experience we won’t want to end. They mix it up a little bit for us and show their stuff in their first album out.
In the first track, “
Starlight Addiction,” the band pulls out some techno tunes. Singing a song about regrets he has, CJ[the lead vocals] tells a story about memories about a girl. If I could then I would/ Take you away from here tonight/ you’re the air I breathe. An obvious favorite of mine, cute song to rock around your bedroom to.
The second track, “
The Life,” a song comes out about taking a chance at breaking free and being what you want to. We all gotta take some chances, don’t we? Well this song tells a story about it. This is the life/ This is the dream/ And it’s nothing as it seems/ Every minute every second/ It’s so real. This song just speaks to the heart when you hear it.
When we get to the fourth track we hear, “
Stop Staring,” a song about wanting to let go of a girl, but having trouble doing so. Saying the lyrics,
there is no me and you, The lyrics speak a story about rewinding and forgetting about them. Just to stop caring and staring and giving up on each other. Great song, not one of my favorites though.
In track number five, “
Situation,” is about looking to a girl and seeing the negatives and positives of her. Looking back on everything they have had in the past. But in the end, you still love the girl you have and no matter what she will be there,
she always makes the best of a situation.
Next up was track number six, “
Here Without You,” is based on loving a girl so much and wanting to have her back. The days pass by/ I wonder why/ you’re not by my side/ I am here without you, the lyrics read. Overall a good song about love. I love it personally.
Now, “
Dreamers,” song telling a story about trying to forget the one you love but having trouble doing so. Knowing what he has done wrong,
we were dreamers every single day. A great couple song, a good one to lay around the room and listen to.
The seventh track is, “
Time To Shine,” is about stepping up to what you know you have to do. Getting up and showing what you have, having a good day and showing it to everyone. GREAT song to blast in the car with your friends.
In the last song, “
Far From Beautiful,” is seeing a girl for what she really is, fake. Seeing through an act she has put on for everyone to see. This is a very beaty and dancy song, very fun and upbeat tune. This one is my favorite on the album.
I really enjoyed this album. And it isn’t just because I love the band, they turn up their intensity and let us see who they can be. I would rate this one a 4.5 out of 5. Great tune and beat throughout the whole album, very fun to dance to.I definitely loved it.
