Pop-princess Selena Gomez has recently released her astonishing fourth album Revival. Selena did an incredible job at not only creating fun beats that keep fans dancing throughout the album, but also spreading a tenacious body positive and loving message. Each track oozes with exotic beats and graceful lyrics that capture old and new fans’ ears. Revival is a must have record this fall.

“Revival”, the first track on her album opens with a short poem setting the theme of self reflection. “I dive into the future, but i’m blinded by the sun. I’m reborn in every moment, so who knows what I will become”. Selena is revealing to audiences a recently discovered and unfamiliar side to her.

“Kill Them With Kindness” is the second track on Gomez’s Revival. With a catchy and tribe-like beat, it is easily a lively and positive vibe track. Selena is expressing how positivity and caring goes a long way. “The world can be a nasty place, you know it, I know it, yeah. We don’t have to fall from grace, put down the weapons you fight with”. The positive message behind this song isn’t neglected. Gomez has a remarkable way to spread peace through her music, unlike most competing artists.

“Hands To Myself” follows “Kill Them With Kindness” by keeping the enjoyable and boisterous beat flowing. “Can’t keep my hands to myself, No matter how hard i’m trying to, I want you all to myself, you’re metaphorical gin and juice”. “Hands To Myself” has such a unique and fun beat with a cute message that gets the audience wanting more.

“Same Old Love” is the second officially announced single from Revival. Co-written with pop phenomenon Charli XCX, audiences expected nothing but supremacy and Selena and Charli did not disappoint. “I’m so sick of that same old love, that shit, it tears me up. I’m so sick of that same old love, my body’s had enough”. One can only assume the break-up ballad was about Gomez’s recent break up with long time boyfriend and teenage heart throb, Justin Bieber.

“Sober” is the fifth track on Revival with an absolutely killer beat and heart-breaking message. “You don’t know how to love me when you’re sober. When the bottle’s done you pull me closer”. Gomez is craving a relationship with this guy who won’t give her the time of day when he is sober. He is the perfect one for her when he is drinking and whispering sweet little nothings. This is her cry and beg for him to appreciate her when he isn’t drinking.

“Good For You” featuring the King of class and rap, A$AP Rocky is the 6th track off of Revival. With it’s late June release, Gomez gave her audiences a sultry taste of her bad-girl side. “Good For You”  sat on top of the charts all summer, teasing her fans until the big release in October. “I’m on my marquise diamonds, I’m a marquise diamond”. Selena knows she looks like perfection for her man and wants everyone to know.

“Camouflage” follows “Good For You” with a heartfelt ballad to her ex lover. “Remember when we’d talk all night, but time ain’t easy on us, how can love die”? Listeners can instantly feel the heart-break and realization that Gomez is portraying. Selena’s voice is nothing but delicate and graceful throughout the entire song, intriguing more and more listeners.

“Me & The Rhythm” takes audiences to a club scene with a wondrous disco-like beat and Selena’s high pitched vocals in the chorus. “If you feel like you’re the spark, then come out of the dark”. Gomez encourages listeners to scorn the haters and let the music inspire loving yourself.

“Survivors” is the ninth track on Revival and continues the theme of peace and love amongst our generation. “You’ve fixed the paint, so we could start. So now what’s mine is ours”. Gomez expresses her concern for people lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down. “Survivors” includes a miraculous club beat that gets fans dancing.

“Body Heat” takes audience to an exotic paradise with beats infused with Spanish influence. “If you’re the flame, I’m kerosene”. Gomez is expressing her pure joy with being her lover’s girl. Her excitement is undeniable with the face paced beat.

Selena ends Revival on a touching and body positive message in her song, “Rise”. “I know there are those who will wanna bring you down, you can rise with your mind and make your higher power proud”. Gomez spreads the harmonious message of having to accept yourself and love yourself unconditionally. Selena Gomez is a pop-goddess filled with unconditional love for her fans and audiences. Throughout Revival she is expressing positive messages of loving yourself and others. Selena feels revived and wants everyone to experience the same.
